R. Bruce Warden entered Cornell in 1914, beginning in mechanical engineering and graduated in 1920 with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. From 1917 to 1919, he served in the Army as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Field Artillery, 121st Field Artillery, 32nd Division. In January 1918, he went to France and participated in the Marne offensive.
